Business Insight and Performance (BIP)

We are currently developing our new BIP course and expect this to be available from April 2026. For those who need support before then, you may wish to use our Management Information (MI) Video Course. BIP is the Next Generation ACA version of MI and the majority of the ICAEW Workbook and Question Bank has remained the same. The MI course covers the main BIP topic areas of costing, variance analysis, break even analysis, investment appraisal, working capital and budgeting, including exam technique guidance and demonstration for each type of scenario-based question. If you do decide to use the MI course to help prepare you for your BIP exam, you should ensure that you are using the latest ICAEW BIP learning materials and note the ICAEW Workbook chapters and sections which have been added to BIP and not included in MI:

• Chapter 1: Data analysis

• Chapter 2: Technology, ethics and sustainability

• Chapter 7.4 - 7.8: Supply and demand and elasticity

• Chapter 13: External environment

Also note that Residual Income (RI) and Return on Investment (ROI) and no longer examinable in BIP.​​
